Coopers Beach in Southampton, Long Island, New York was selected as the #1 beach for 2010 by Dr. Stephen Leatherman. Known as “Dr. Beach”, he is the director of Florida International University’s Lab for Coastal Research.

Canon Corporation broke ground recently on construction of its Headquarters of the Americas, located in Long Island’s key business hub, Melville. In addition, companies such as Honeywell, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories, Brookhaven National Lab, Griffon, the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research at North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Broadridge Financial Services and many others have made their homes here and provide internships and employment opportunities for recent graduates.
